Occupancy includes visitors. The vehicle limit is the RV or rig plus its tow vehicle.

Important

Site assignments may change

We strive to accommodate requested site selections. However, it may become necessary to reassign a guest to a comparable site so that we can accommodate other reservations.

Please Note

Electric-vehicle charging

Sky Mountain Resort does not have the electrical service required to provide EV charging at individual campsites.

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad provides two public charging ports nearby.

Campground Courtesy

Respect neighboring guests

Be considerate of other guests and their space. Do not enter or obstruct another guest’s campsite.

Music & Noise

Loud music, boomboxes, or other audio that can be heard by neighboring guests is prohibited outside your RV.

Children

Children must be properly supervised at all times throughout the property, including near the river.

Children may not enter the laundry room without parental supervision. Parents are responsible for their children’s safety and behavior.

Rock throwing is not permitted in the campground or along the river.

Bicycles

Bicycles may be ridden throughout the campground but must remain on the hard-packed gravel roads.

Bicycle riding is not permitted at the office entrance except when entering or leaving the campground.

Motorized Recreation

ATVs, dirt bikes, and motorized or electric scooters may not be operated in the campground.

An exception is made when a mobility device is required by a guest with a disability.

Drones

Drones may be operated only in the large open grassy area located behind the office building.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in the bathhouse, laundry room, and office.

Dispose of smoking materials in the provided ashcans or another appropriate container.

Traveling With Pets

Pet policy

Well-behaved pets are welcome, subject to the following limits and safety requirements.

Maximum two pets per campsite
  • Pets must be controlled on a leash at all times.
  • Pets may not enter the bathhouse, laundry room, or office.
  • Pets may not be left unattended at any time.
  • Pets may not be tied to trees.
  • Owners must collect pet waste and place it in a trash receptacle.
  • Nuisance barking will not be tolerated.
  • Guests arriving with more than two pets will forfeit their reservation.

Breed restrictions

The following breeds, and dogs mixed with one or more of these breeds, are not permitted:

Akita, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Mastiff, Chow, German Shepherd, Fila Brasileiro, Alaskan Malamute, Doberman Pinscher, Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, Neapolitan Mastiff, Presa Canario, Pit Bull, Tosa Ken, Perro de Presa Mallorquin, American Bulldog, Rottweiler, Bloodhound, and Wolf Hybrid.

Fire & Safety

Help protect the campground

Campfires

Fires must remain contained within the provided fire rings at all times.

Trees and shrubs in and around the campground are part of the landscape and may not be cut, damaged, or used as firewood.

Firearms & Fireworks

The discharge of firearms or fireworks is prohibited anywhere in the park.

Firearms may not be outside your vehicle or RV.

Speed Limit

10 mph

The speed limit must not exceed 10 miles per hour anywhere on the property.

Campsites & Facilities

Caring for your site

Vehicles & RVs

Keep vehicles, trailers, and RVs on designated driveways and roadways.

Vehicle or RV washing, oil changes, and mechanical repairs are not permitted at campsites.

Sewage & Gray Water

Gray water and sewage may be deposited only into designated sewer hookups and must never be dumped onto the ground.

Rubber- or plastic-sealed sewer rings are required. Portable toilets may not be emptied in the restrooms.

Trash

Do not place trash or debris in the river, campground, or surrounding properties.

Place food and trash in securely tied plastic bags before putting them in the dumpster.

Tents & Enclosures

Tent camping is not permitted.

Easy-up awnings and screened enclosures may be used at your campsite.

Reservations & Responsibility

Guest responsibility and enforcement

Damage and liability

Guests are responsible and liable for damage caused by themselves, their visitors, children, or pets.

Sky Mountain Resort is not responsible for acts of nature, a guest’s negligence, or the negligence of other people visiting the park.

Refunds and compliance

Refunds are not provided for early departures.

Failure to comply with campground rules may result in termination of the stay without a refund. Sky Mountain Resort reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
